CellSIM is a high-performance smart card operating system for telecom applications fully compatible with most international and industry standards such as ISO, Oracle, Global platform, 3GPP  and ETSI. Targeted as a firmware for subscriber identity devices and based on widely adopted UICC standards, it covers a broad range of telecom requirements.

What is UICC

The European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) and  then 3rd Generation Partnership Program have produced the most successful Smart Card to date - the Subscriber Identity Module (SIM), of which there are currently more than 13 Billion cards in circulation. The SIM has evolved to the Universal Integrated Circuit Card (UICC), which offers a multi-application security platform providing the user with a wealth of opportunities and able to host many different applications.Today SIM is a truly network attached device and a secure platform for many value-added applications in addition to network authentication: transportation, ticketing, payment, CAS application for mobileTV, mobile identity, on-device operator portals

Main Features

Being a clear-room in-house developed operating system, CellSIM includes a number of company technological innovations and was successfully tested in the lab and approved in the field. High performance of CellSIM is achieved owing to support of a broad range of ARM7 microcontrollers as well as implementation of effective data processing and memory management techniques. Java Card API is fully implemented on the native layer to improve overall virtual machine performance. CellSIM additionally provides a higher level of customization than any ROM product while allowing preparation and launching of new configurations into the production within a very short period of time.

CellSIM provides following basic functionalities:

  • Java™ UICC (JC 2.2.1) with SIM/USIM Applications
  • ETSI/3GPP Rel.-6, Rel. 5 is supported for the backward compartibility
  • Chip Suppliers: Samsung, ST Microelectronics, Starchip
  • Voltages: 1.8 - 5V
  • Dynamic Memory Management
  • Phys. Defragmentation
  • BIP/CAT-TP for high speed OTA transports
  • Wear-levelling and full anti-tearing support
  • Microbrowsers (WIB 1.3, SIMallaince S@T 2009)
  • Additional applications
  • PPS procedure depending on chip capabilities
  • Crypto support
  • Support of logical channels (up to 4)
