CellSIM Basic

CellSIM Basic is a smart card operating system fully based on Oracle's Java Card standards including high-performance virtual machine, cryptography module with PKI support with full support of Global platform 2.1.1 requirements and ported onto several highly secure micro-controller platforms.

 Main Features

    • Java Card ™ 2.2.1 or 2.2.2 with full API implementation
    • Global Platform 2.1.1 support with a set of packages including JC API
    • ISO 7816 File System
    • T=0 and T=1 support
    • Low-level API‘s for developers
    • Dynamic Memory Management

CellSIM OS is designed in the way to ease the porting onto different hardware architectures. To date, it has been ported onto several 32bit platforms and can be easily migrated to any 16/32-bit microcontroller architecture.

CellSIM Basic provides more than just the compliance with relevant international standards such as ISO, Global Platform and Java Card, ETSI. It is designed based on component-oriented architecture with clearly defined interfaces, which ensures the systematic structuring of operating system components such as kernel models, functional packages and applications. This approach makes it possible to implement a completely tailor-made configuration which includes only desired functionality leaving more space for customer files and Java applications.

    Advanced memory management

Modern FLASH microcontrollers require much more sophisticated memory management techniques comparing with EEPROM solutions due to page-oriented write access and limited number of write circles.  Dynamic memory allocation, memory defragmentation and automatic garbage collection are the key areas where we can provide impressive evidence of our technological capabilities.

High performance of CellSIM is achieved owing to internal optimization and implementation techniques, usage of high-performance microcontrollers such as ARM-based devices, as well as effective implementation methods of data processing.

CellSIM provides unprecedentedly high level of configurability, much better than any ROM-based product and at the same time reduces time to market for completely new configurations.

Thanks to the high level of configurability it is possible to reduce the overall size of the code, and hence, to choose microcontrollers with less NVRAM capacity. Such approach makes it possible to bring products for various market segments ranging from 32 K to 1M of NVRAM capacity and above with the costs not exceeding and often even cheaper than using similar ROM-based solutions.

CellSIM Basic is a freely licensable solution with a flexible business model. It is used Internally as a core of CellSIM USIM and CellSIM LTE operating systems as well as USIM Simulation Kit, our reference and test platform for the smart card applications. CellSIM Basic can be licensed either in binary or in full source code forms. Available as a complete operating system or as a set of chosen components only.
